LA-CMA, LA County Museum of Art resides on a site that holds many layers of meaning. It is a place of intersection of cultures and historical events such as the La Brea tar pits that preserved fauna from the Ice Age and Miracle Mile, designed for cars.

The proposed rendition of the new LACMA focuses on the spatial and symbolic interlock of narratives. It is a semiotic dissection of the site's many histories. The facade literally and figuratively holds layers of meaning, serving as a lens through which to view the site.
